The Town of Huntington is hosting the Family Earth Day Expo this Saturday, April 21 from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
The parking lot behind Town Hall on Main Street will be busy this Saturday with a variety of events and opportunities for the whole family to participate in while helping to preserve our environment.
Recycle your electronic devices and out-dated machines with the Plug-in to E-Cycling Event. Bring your old documents to be shredded and disposed of onsite by Shred-It. The Green Showcase will feature demonstrations on residential solar energy, green cleaning & organic gardening. Need to dispose of shrink wrap from your boat? You can do that also at this event.
There are many “hands-on” events scheduled for children. Representatives from Cornell University will provide children the opportunity to touch live sea specimens in their “Touch Tank.” Back by popular demand is the “Touch a Truck Event” – where children can climb on, touch and learn about different trucks. What child wouldn’t want to climb on a fire truck, rescue vehicle or a garbage truck?
